google maps direction: switm from Taiwan to China

Google Maps is kidding me! I search for driving direction from Taiwan to China and Google Maps ask me to “swim across the Pacific Ocean”!

Info: There is no bridge linking between Taiwan and China, and no direct flight neither (read: politic).

Facebook Messages is Twitter Copycat?

Facebook Messages (a.k.a Facebook Email) is here. While waiting for some kind soul to send me an invitation, I thought there are similarities in between the new Facebook Messages and the current Twitter.

Facebook Messages is a combination of email, chat, and SMS. You can control who can/cannot send you a message. All your messages are kept in one place. Conversation with a friend is stored in single thread.

Twitter, a instant social messaging system limited to 140 characters, allows you to follow/unfollow, block/unblock any other users. Twitter Direct Message is shown in single thread with other users. Send message by SMS is the initial main purpose of the Twitter.

What’s the different?

Email — On Twitter, you cannot send message to non-Twitter user. On Facebook Messages, you can use Facebook email to send an email message to someone not on Facebook.

More than 140 characters — FB Message is like an email message, forget about trimming your message like on Twitter.

Attachment — Facebook Messages allow you to attach photos, videos and documents to a message.

That’s big! What do you think?
