| Google China New Home in HongKong, No Censorship Posted: 23 Mar 2010 09:05 AM PDT Google finally decided to redirect Google China’s traffic to Google Hong Kong. All traffic to Google.CN will be redirect to Google.com.HK, a new home of Google China. Google Hong Kong homepage has been updated to welcome visitors redirected from Google.CN with the sentence “Welcome you to the new home of Google Search in China” (欢迎您来到谷歌搜索在中国的新家). In the blog post, “A new approach to China: an update“, David Drummond, SVP, Corporate Development and Chief Legal Officer wrote that:
Also, Google created a new page “Mainland China service availability” to display the status of Google services within China: Blocked, Partially Blocked or No issue. Based on the page, Youtube, Google Sites, and Blogger are fully blocked in China. (yes, we knew it!) According to Alexa top sites, Google.cn is the 3rd top site in China. The 1st is Baidu.com and 2nd is QQ.com. Read also: the unofficial Google Chinese logo by me! |
| At Last, BlackBerry App World Download for Malaysians Posted: 23 Mar 2010 05:06 AM PDT Now Malaysians can download BlackBerry App World to browser other BlackBerry apps and download them! BlackBerry App Store is a long waiting feature of Malaysian users. Without the online application store, BlackBerry users do not have a centralize place to download/pay for the apps they need. They need to search all over the Internet to find apps for their BlackBerry smartphone. However, the BlackBerry App World (Malaysia) is currently only offer *free* apps downlaods such as Facebook, Flickr, Bloomberg Mobile, etc. Malaysian users cannot buy the paid app via Blackberry App World, yet. Well, patient is the key. For the moment, download BlackBerry App World and install it in your smartphone. Then, you can browse the Blackberry apps that match your smartphone model. Also, you can browse all the apps using your computer web browser at here. [via theStar TechCentral] My two centsOne of my complaint about BlackBerry smartphone in Malaysia is no app store like Apple. Read my previous review of BlackBerry Bold 9000. This is a good start, although limited to free apps. Do you know that you need a PayPal account in order to buy apps via BlackBerry App World? I guess the PayPal system is one of the reasons why paid apps not available to Malaysians yet, right? BlackBerry users, where do you find your apps? |
